¨AppleScan will display your scanned document dot for dot, which means that each dot of the scan shows as one dot on the screen. The Macintosh screen resolution is 72 dots per inch. Therefore, if you scan an image at 300 dots per inch, the scanned document will be almost four times larger on the screen than on the original to show all the dots.
